About Us

Home Of Furniture is a small wooden furniture business in Mandan, North Dakota. We make plain, solid pieces and sell them at a price a normal household can say yes to.

Why we started

We kept seeing the same thing in people's homes. A table that looked like wood until you caught the edge of it and found paper over chipboard. A wardrobe that sagged in the middle after one winter. Furniture that was cheap to buy and expensive to keep replacing.

So we started building the other kind. Solid pine and solid oak, plain shapes, nothing clever. The sort of piece that gets moved from one house to the next instead of left on the kerb.

What we make

There are forty two pieces in the range and that is on purpose. We would rather make a small number of things properly than fill a catalogue with variations nobody asked for.

• Beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers and nightstands
• Desks, laptop risers, office storage and desk pieces
• Shelving, shoe racks, hooks and hallway storage

The range runs from a set of oak coasters at thirteen dollars to a solid oak dining set for six at three hundred and ninety. Every piece is on its own page with the real size, the real weight and the real price.

How we build

Tops, legs and frames are solid wood. Drawer bottoms and the backs of tall cabinets use plywood, because solid wood in those places warps and then the drawer stops sliding. We say which wood a piece uses in its title so you never have to guess.

Most pieces ship flat with every screw, dowel and key taped inside the carton and a printed guide that uses pictures instead of part codes. Wardrobes, double beds and king beds need two people and we say so on the page rather than letting you find out on the floor of your bedroom.

How we sell

One price, shown plainly. No list price crossed out, no clock counting down, no offer that ends at midnight and then comes back on Tuesday. If a piece costs one hundred and twenty dollars, that is what it costs.

We would also rather talk you out of the wrong piece than take the order. Send us the measurements of the space and we will tell you straight whether the table fits.

Where we ship from

Everything leaves our warehouse at 110 S Meadow Ln in Mandan, North Dakota, and we ship to all fifty states. Small pieces travel by parcel carrier and large pieces by freight, which is why a bookcase lands faster than a wardrobe.
